Dr. Richard H. Brodtmann, originally from New Orleans Louisiana, has lived in Texas since 1974 when he attended Optometry school at the University of Houston College of Optometry. Dr. Brodtmann is a licensed Therapeutic Optometrist and an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. He graduated from Loyola University in New Orleans with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and was a member of the Biological Honor Society Beta Beta Beta. He then was selected for receive one of a few seats offered to attend Optometry school out of state and went on to pursue his Doctorate of Optometry in the great state of Texas. Dr. Brodtmann was a member of the International Optometric Society, Beta Sigma Kappa, and graduated with honors in 1977. Dr. Brodtmann has been an integral part of the vision health of the New Braunfels community for over 36 years. He is proud to be able to provide the best eye care available to his patients and their families. He specializes in contact lenses and ocular diseases. Dr. Brodtmann has been married 40 years to his wife Lynda. He has one daughter, Christine, and she and her husband Chris have one child Austin. In his spare time, Dr. Brodtmann's interests include hunting, traveling, and volunteer work with his 36 year membership in the Downtown Rotary Club, and formerly with the Mid-Texas Symphony and New Braunfels Jaycees.
